STRIPPING DOWN
The stripping and demolition continued through the winter. The original portholes and other fittings were put aside.
BEAM SHELVES
In early spring Laurence Hebson, shipwright/boatbuilder, joined the project to take on the more skilled work of reconstruction. Repairs to the beam shelf start.
AFTERDECK
The afterdeck is removed. The structure underneath around the stern area is nearly a hundred years old and has had little attention in that time.
TIMBER
Laurence and Dick Murphy (who has a saw mill) on a trip to a Suffolk timber yard to get some air dried oak. We have a box for steaming timber powered by wallpaper steamers.
