PREPARING FOR THE CABIN SIDES

More bearers to support the bulkheads and add strength to the hull, they are made of oak and iroko. Oak posts to support the bulkheads and cabin sides go in at the same time.

FOREDECK

Moving ahead, the foredeck is now stripped. The deck beams will need replacement but the beam shelves and planking around the bows are fine.

BUILDING THE CABIN SIDES

The cabin sides are raised plank by plank, each laminated in two parts, the inner is utile and the outer is teak. The planks are fasten with bronze pocket bolts and oak 'biscuits', then fastened to the oak bulkhead frames with bronze screws.
